An earthquake of a magnitude of 6.3 hit the medieval city of L’Aquila on Monday morning leaving 30,000 people homeless. A mass state funeral was held on Friday for the victims in the open air. The complete areas bishops and cardinals along with the Italian Prime Minister were present with over 100 priests attended the mass. Mourners gathered together and prayed for the victims.
